What Should I Wear To
Exercise?
| Shoes:
First and most important, are your shoes. You will
need a good pair of shoes that fit well without
rubbing or jarring when you walk or run. |
| Socks:
It is important you wear clean, dry socks to protect
the skin of your feet from blisters. Synthetic fiber
socks are preferred over cotton. Cotton socks stay
wet when you sweat. This is not good for your feet. |
| Shorts:
Shorts that allow you to move freely and are loose
enough that they do not rub your skin. |
| Shirt:
A simple loose-fitting t-shirt will be perfect. |
| Watch:
A watch with an easy to read face and a second hand
will be very helpful for you to keep track of how
long you have been running/walking/wheeling. A
digital watch or stopwatch will also work. |
|
.....And In Cold
Weather Outside |
| In cold weather it is important
to modify your clothing to hold in body heat and
protect your skin. Mittens for your hands and a hat
that covers your ears are very good choices. Ear
extra layers of thin clothing so they can be removed
as your body gets warm. Put your sweats on as soon
as have finished running/walking/wheeling. |
